When I think of the seven sacraments of the Catholic Church, I think of one of those "all you can eat" buffets. You have the rolls and appetizers and then the salads and side dishes, the veggies and the entrees and finally the desserts! What a feast! In the Catholic Church, we have the total banquet. The seven sacraments take us from birth to death and everywhere in between and give us grace for the journey to heaven. We have Baptism, Eucharist, Confession, Confirmation, Matrimony, Holy Orders and Anointing of the Sick.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) has excellent information about all of the sacraments. Go to paragraphs 1210-1666 and soak it all in! If you specifically want to learn about the sacramental oils, Fr. William Saunders wrote a great article entitled, "The Use of Sacramental Oils," in the Arlington Catholic Herald. You can find that online. My wish for everyone is to come to the banquet! All are welcome! Investigate more about the Catholic Church where Jesus Christ feeds you and you will never hunger again! God bless you, Hey Catholic Lady
